My line of business is consulting and my main expertise is to help organisations where software is built and maintained to do so safely and securely with quality and speed (yes, they go together - ask me how and I can tell you).

Technical Management

Do you need an interim manager? A "director", "VP" or "head of"? I can help. I have lead teams directly and also managed other managers. I have also managed third party vendors, contracts and negotiations. Security and compliance are very much my comfort zones.

Software architecture and decision-making

I had my first role as "system architect" in 2006. I have since worked to eliminate "architects as bottlenecks", encourage team ownership of architecture and decisions while still improving and producing functional and performant software architectures. I very much believe in early and continuously working to design quality, reliability and security in.

DevOps

...making sure you do not end up with dev-oops through a focus on quality, observability, reliability, reflection and safety for humans and systems. I enjoy the collective learning from incidents and post-mortems and work hard to emanate a feeling of safety and joy even during the most stressful of times.
